In Favor Of Gun Control?

Some interesting facts associated with gun control.

Gun Control:

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control.
From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend
themselves, were cut off from their food supplies and starved to
death or rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control.
From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938.
From 1939 to 1945, 10 million Jews and others who were unable
to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935.
From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to
defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964.
From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970.
From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend
themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956.
From 1975 to 1977, one to two million 'educated' people,
unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1956 no one in Cambodia could imagine total confiscation and
citizen enslavement in the "foreseeable future", ...
but per capita, more citizens were eventually murdered
by their own government than in any other country in history.

Many of you are already familiar with these, but I think it is worth posting again.

Well, we live in a civilized society, it will never happen here...

Guns In Your Place Of Worship?.. Heavens No!

In todays ever evolving society, one where violence is becoming commonplace, decisions of 'to protect or not to protect' are made every day.

Well, what about carrying in your place of worship? Listen, every self-respecting criminal would consider those in a time of prayer and submission to their ideology as peaceful and non-violent, so why harm them, right? NO! There are people with evil intentions in all walks of life today.

Here are just a few examples, and there are many more, if you look for them.
Isolated incidents you say? Tell that to the victims here...

There is nothing in the bible that says we are not to be wise and ready to fend off evil.

Go here to see what used to be expected of parishioners. Yes, you were expected to comply or there was a fine. You may say, "that was then, the west was wild" or "it's not like that today".
Yeah, tell that to the victims today... Read the link, it is interesting.

To Preserve A Life...

In the midst of tragedy experienced by some and witnessed in the media by others, 'gun control' has become a hot topic. You have the camp of 'ban all guns', and the camp of 'we have a right to legally posses a firearm'.

It is my opinion that those within the camp of gun control are largely uneducated when it come to firearms ownership, or may have some other agenda. How many high profile celebrities and politicians, that are openly 'anti gun', have bodyguards? How many of those bodyguards do you think are armed? You guessed it, hypocrites...

There seems to be an attitude of 'guns are evil and only evil or crazy people have them'. The non-criminal that carries a gun is a vigilante just looking for a bad guy to give him his due. Guns are instruments of death! Right?

I submit to you that most Americans that exercise their 2nd amendment right, are decent, honest and care about their fellow man. The drive behind legally carrying a handgun is actually to preserve life. That's right, to preserve it. I want to be around for my wife and children, as most people do, and I am willing to fulfill my obligation to protect them in the face of evil. I also want to be able to preserve my own life.

Most criminals that will rob or break into your home have ill intentions and will do whatever is necessary to accomplish their goal, and that may mean bodily harm or worse, to you. We have a moral obligation to care for our family and that may mean stopping evil intentions with any means necessary up to, and including deadly force. I pray that I am never faced with that decision, but because I, and you, see life as precious we must be ready to go the distance.

Again, there is a moral obligation to preserve life against all evil intentions. There are things that can be done to avoid potential danger such as not going out alone at night, keep your doors locked, etc.. There is a most respected law enforcement officer who has authored many self defense articles and books, that advocates education for the average citizen, to know how to avoid trouble. This is the first step in preserving life, avoiding potential dangers, use throw-down money, whatever it takes to protect yourself and your loved ones.

The unfortunate truth is, we live in an ever increasing, hostile world. Let's be prepared to preserve a life, even if it means using any force necessary, up to and including deadly force.
Here is a very interesting Jewish perspective by R. Mermelstein, who by the way is well respected outside of Jewish circles. He is very knowledgeable on the subject of firearms and the Bible. Check it out, you may enjoy it!

Be safe and be well...

Free to bear arms...Gun Control

This may be slightly old news, but I came across this article written about 'strange bedfellows'.
The ACLU working with the NRA may seem a bit strange indeed, particularly in light of the ACLU's normal stance on the 2nd Amendment Rights issue. Nonetheless, this may seem a positive to some.

My concern is, what may look good now may turn in to more restrictions later. There are many in our country who are uneducated when it comes to firearms ownership. There is the stereotypical redneck just looking for someone or something to shoot, and of course the thug that wants to rob or kill using a gun or knife. The latter should make you consider personal ownership, but hey, guns are evil right?

Now more than ever personal firearm ownership should be considered, after all, we do live in a dangerous society and it is our duty to be able to protect ourselves and our families. With this said, it is imperative that we are informed of the the laws and we must train to safely and effectively to use a firearm. A gun is a tool and not a toy. I can say there is a lot of enjoyment that can be had, such as hunting, plinking or target shooting, it is legitimate and a part of our great history for responsible ownership, but I digress...

Bottom line of the story here is we are constrained by certain laws of ownership at this time, (unfortunately our legal rights want to be taken away from us). Get a conceal to carry permit, if you plan to carry, do it legally. A police officer is not going to believe you have purchased a .357 handgun for target practice, come on. The man in the article probably knew that, but perhaps not being completely informed of the law had to say something. Interpretation of 'traveling' seems to be up to the officer making the traffic stop.

Drive safely, know the law and train...
