This Weeks Solider Was Suggested By Robert

Lt. General Lewis B.
Lt. General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller
June 26, 1898 - October 11, 1971

Lieutenant General Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller was a colorful veteran of the Korean War, four World War II campaigns, and expeditionary service in China, Nicaragua, and Haiti. He is the only Marine to win the Navy Cross five times for heroism and gallantry in combat earing him the distinction of being the most decorated Marine in the history of the USMC.

A Marine officer and enlisted man for 37 years, General Puller served at sea or overseas for all but ten of those years, including a hitch as commander of the "Horse Marines" in China. Excluding medals from foreign governments, he won a total of 14 personal decorations in combat, plus a long list of campaign medals, unit citation ribbons and other awards. In addition to the Navy Crosses, the highest honor the Navy can bestow, he holds its Army equivalent, the Distinguished Service Cross. A list of his awards can be found here.

Born 26 June 1898, at West Point, Virginia, the general attended Virginia Military Institute until enlisting in the Marine Corps in August 1918. He was appointed a Marine Reserve second lieutenant 16 June 1919, but due to force reductions after World War I, was placed on inactive duty ten days later. He rejoined the Marines as an enlisted man to serve with the Gendarmerie d'Haiti, a military force in that country under a treaty with the United States. Most of its officers were U. S. Marines, while its enlisted personnel were Haitians.

After almost five years in Haiti, where he saw frequent action against the Caco rebels, Puller returned in March 1924 to the United States. He was commissioned a Marine second lieutenant that same month, and during the next two years, served at the Marine Barracks, Norfolk, Virginia, completed the Basic School at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and served with the 10th Marine Regiment at Quantico, Virginia.

In July of 1926, Puller embarked for a two-year tour of duty at the Marine Barracks, Pearl Harbor. Returning in June 1928, he served in San Diego, California, until he joined the Nicaraguan National Guard Detachment that December. After winning his first Navy Cross in Nicaragua, he returned to the United States in July 1931 to enter the Company Officers Course at the Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia. He completed the course in June 1932 and returned to Nicaragua the following month to begin the tour of duty that brought him a second Navy Cross.

In January 1933, Puller left Nicaragua for the United States. A month later he sailed from San Francisco to join the Marine Detachment of the American Legation at Peiping, China. There, in addition to other duties, he commanded the famed "Horse Marines." Without coming back to the United States, he began a tour of sea duty in USS AUGUSTA of the Asiatic Fleet. In June 1936 he returned to the United States to become an instructor in the Basic School at Philadelphia. He left there in May 1939 to serve another year as commander of the AUGUSTA's Marine Detachment, and from that cruiser, joined the 4th Marine Regiment at Shanghai, China, in May 1940.

After serving as a battalion executive and commanding officer with the 4th Marines, Puller sailed for the United States in August 1941. In September, he took command of the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, at Camp Lejeune. That Regiment was detached from the 1st Division in March 1942 and the following month, as part of the 3rd Marine Brigade, sailed for the Pacific theater. The 7th Regiment rejoined the 1st Marine Division in September 1942, and Puller, still commanding its 1st Battalion, went on to win his third Navy Cross at Guadalcanal.

The action that brought him that medal occurred on the night of October 24-25 1942. For a desperate three hours his battalion, stretched over a mile-long front, was the only defense between vital Henderson Airfield and a regiment of seasoned Japanese troops. In pouring jungle rain the Japanese smashed repeatedly at his thin line, as General Puller moved up and down its length to encourage his men and direct the defense. After reinforcements arrived, he commanded the augmented force until late the next afternoon. The defending Marines suffered less than 70 casualties in the engagement while 1400 of the enemy were killed and 17 truckloads of Japanese equipment were recovered by the Americans.

After Guadalcanal, Puller became executive officer of the 7th Marines. He was fighting in that capacity when he won his fourth Navy Cross at Cape Gloucester in January 1944. There, when the commanders of the two battalions were wounded, he took over their units and moved through heavy machine-gun and mortar fire to reorganize them for attack, then led them in taking a strongly fortified enemy position.

In February 1944, Puller took command of the 1st Marines at Cape Gloucester. After leading that regiment for the remainder of the campaign, he sailed with it for the Russell Islands in April 1944. He went on to command it at Peleliu in September and October 1944. He returned to the United States in November 1944, named executive officer of the Infantry Training Regiment at Camp Lejeune in January 1945, and took command of that regiment the next month.

In August 1946, Puller became Director of the 8th Marine Corps Reserve District, with headquarters at New Orleans, Louisiana. After that assignment, he commanded the Marine Barracks at Pearl Harbor until August 1950, when he arrived at Camp Pendleton, California, to re-establish and take command of the 1st Marines, the same regiment he had led at Cape Gloucester and Peleliu.

Landing with the 1st Marines at Inchon, Korea, in September 1950, he continued to head that regiment until January 1951, when he was promoted to brigadier general and named Assistant Commander of the 1st Marine Division. That May he returned to Camp Pendleton to command the newly reactivated 3rd Marine Division in January 1952. After that, he was assistant at division commander until he took over the Troop Training Unit, Pacific, at Coronado, California, that June. He was promoted to major general in September 1953, and in July 1954, assumed command of the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune. Despite his illness, he retained that command until February 1955, when he was appointed Deputy Camp Commander. He served in that capacity until August, when he entered the U. S. Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune prior to retirement.

In 1966, General Puller requested to return to active duty to serve in Vietnam, but was turned down because of his age. He died 11 October 1971 in Hampton, Virginia, after a long illness. He was 73.

Pause...

Dear readers,

In the midst of all that is developing around our world, we have a great need for an awakening. There are many voices that speak of the dangers facing our world, of which 'of Bullets and Bibles' have been one.

As many of you in the blogosphere know, it takes a great deal of time and energy to research and pound the keyboard for our voices to be heard.

In my quest to be the man that I was created to be, I must pause, so that I may 'hear' more clearly to know the road that I am to travel. I owe it to my God, family and ultimately, my fellow man.

It will be a bit of a challenge to not research and let my voice be 'heard', which has importance as a cohesive unit. Priorities must be set, and that is my current mission, to set them in the proper order.

I will post periodically, and God only knows, I may carry on here at oB&Bs with regularity in due time, we shall see...

Be well and remember; Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor and Personal Courage...

Adel Darwish, A Brave Soul...

Here is a man, willing to stand up and speak some truth, daring to to tell it like it is, because it is necessary. It is necessary to speak up, to create awareness and to possibly save lives. There are only a few within the Egyptian, Syrian, Iranian, etc. population who are willing and, perhaps, able to do so. It may take guts, as we say here in America, and it seems that Adel Darwish has them.

Here is an excerpt of what he has to say in his latest article:

It is a battle between the culture of vibrant life which is a basic human instinct, and the culture of death, as summed up by Egyptian playwright, Ali Salem, in Asharq al Awsat last month.

Terrorists want to ram their sick culture down other people’s throats and force them to change their way of life. Why not? They have already succeeded in forcing people to change their dress-code, their ways of entertainment and their way of life in regions where democracy has retreated.

Just compare the high standard of performing arts in Egyptian movies in the 1930s and 1940s with the poor standard of Egyptian television drama today. Self-censorship has always been the death of creative art. Fearing the outcry of Islamists or even the threat of terrorism that they pose, Egyptian television bosses were cowed into cutting out scenes and performances that have always been part of Egyptian culture.

We must never permit the culture of death-mongers to change our way of life or force us to change the way we eat, drink, dress, or enjoy ourselves.

Hundreds of thousands of white Britons marched in the 1970s to denounce an ultra right-wing nationalist organisation condemning its racist slogans against immigrants. Where are the British Muslims today? Why don’t they march in their thousands to denounce terrorism?

Why don’t Islamic scholars and clerics rule that coercing people into a different way of life is un-Islamic and that one of basic Islamic teaching is that “there is no compulsion in religion”?

Go to The Bill T Blog for the rest of the story, thanks Bill...

Cells Already Here...

Counterterrorism Blog has this to say...

The current media rush to interpret what the US Government is releasing in terms of potential infiltration by an al Qaeda cell (or cells) to strike this summer is warranted but still unfocused. ABC News and AP have reported new official "concerns" of an attack on the US homeland this summer. ABC specified that (according to its sources) the Terrorists intend to attack a Government facility. Furthermore, as reported widely in the press, "new intelligence suggests a small al Qaeda cell is on its way to the US, or may already be here." The report added that the White House has convened an urgent multi-agency meeting for Thursday afternoon to address ways to minimize or counter the threat, and steps to harden and protect Government facilities."

The report quoted a former FBI agent (and ABC Terrorism expert) analyzing the potential threat by stating that the target is a Government building. ABC told its viewers that the tactics by the London attackers provided clues that are being used to decode other emails, etc. Even further AP reported that US Counter Terrorism officials have warned that al Qaeda has "interest in attacking in the summer time." Added to this salad of analysis, was the news about a previous video showing a "graduation" by the Taliban in Pakistan. And to season it, two more leads were added: One was the Daily Telegraph story about the 45 doctors who were planning on attacking a US military target in Florida and a Sky News report about British Pastor Canon Andrew White who has said of an April discussion with al Qaeda "representative" who told him "the killing will start in the UK and the US."

So in short, based on these "reports," US media are telling their audiences (from their Government sources) the following:

1. A Graduation has occurred in Pakistan (they showed the footage) and Jihadists are on their way to the West.

2. A Pastor has met an al Qaeda representative who told him operations are underway.

3. American analysts looked at the British Jihadists tactics over the past few weeks and "learned" something new. Something that taught them how to better read information they already had.

5. A media report said 45 doctors were to prepare an attack against a US base.

4. Hence, the conclusion is that a cell, or more, is on their way to the US. And according to a general mood, it was concluded that summers are better for Jihadists to attack.

But if the reader would re-read those five points he/she may ask many troubling questions. I have the following ones:

This Weeks Hero Was Suggested By Sunni Kay

Ryan Rahe has been active in the Special Olympics since he was in Middle School. The now 25-year-old has won quite a few medals over the years, but not all of his medals are at his Tennessee home. Some of them have been sent, by Ryan, to soldiers fighting the War On Terror for "good luck".

Jayne Rahe, Ryan's mother, said the idea of sending support to the soldiers in harm's way came about when she and Ryan were talking about news coverage of the war in Iraq. Jayne visited www.anysoldier.com and discovered how she and Ryan could let the men and women in Iraq know their efforts are appreciated.

Ryan, named 2006 Special Olympics Athlete of the Year for the Blount County Sports Hall of Fame, said he felt good when he received the box from the soldiers. He said if he could talk with them face to face, he would say, "Thank you."

The Rahes plan to continue sending care packages to soldiers, including the medals.

"Ryan is a pretty generous fellow," Jayne said. "He doesn't mind giving things to people."

In a letter that Ryan received, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Anthony W. Grillett wrote:
"I and the Battalion can never thank you enough for sending us your medals. They have brought us luck and good fortune, and now as we prepare to deploy home we send them back to you with our eternal gratitude.

That you would send us something so precious is a reflection of your character. As you called us heroes; to me you are the hero. For I believe it is not who you are, or what you are that makes you a hero, it is the ability to give all especially when it is never asked.

Your courage to face the challenges required earning those medals and then so freely send them to us here in Iraq will forever make you a hero to me. I will never be able to truly express in words how honored I was when I read the letter from your Mother. It truly humbles me and shows me that what I fight for in our country will always be worth the small sacrifices asked of me. Thank you again."

Islamic Moderates vs. Terrorists?

Dr. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis, has written an article concerning the question of moderates vs. terrorist islamists.

It's a compelling argument and brings forth the ignorance that many have when it comes to understanding the muslim immigrant.

Excerpt from American Chronicle:

Islamic Moderates vs. Terrorists: Wrong! Why?

The author implies the existence of two categories of Muslims, namely the radical – extremist – pro-totalitarian and the so-called ‘moderate’ ones. This is a completely deceitful approach. And it is deceitful because

1. At the moment it gives the idea of two existing poles within Islam, there is only one at the theoretical – philosophical – theological – ideological – intellectual level. The so-called moderates are not a theoretical pole in juxtaposition to the extremists.

2. The non extremists do not belong to or form one group but consist in a great variety of ideas, groups, individuals, beliefs, attitudes and organizations with many of them mendaciously confusing their Western interlocutors.

3. Even worse, none of the non – extremists descends form a historical Islamic philosophical system that would be effective as theoretical – philosophical counterbalance of the Islamic Terrorists and Extremists, who originate from an Islamic minority, a marginal and perverse group of the first centuries of Islam.

4. Not a single Muslim understands what happened in Islam, namely the fact that, through the establishment of successive perverse and counterfeit theoretical heresies – that were all rejected in their times by the outright majority of the Muslims, the Caliphatic administration, and the entire range of the great historical Philosophers, Intellectuals, Artists, Erudite Scholars, Scientists and Authors, who only formed the Islamic Civilization –, the real sense of Islam as Civilization, Culture and Religion went lost. Due to the gradual expansion and final totalitarian imposition of the systems of Hanbal, Ibn Taimiya, and Abdel Wahhab, what was left as Islam is a bogus-Islam that has nothing to do with the preaching of Prophet Muhammad.

5. In fact, all those among the academic and religious institutions of Islam, who ascribe themselves to what is viewed or thought as moderate Islam, simply belong to (and believe in) the aforementioned line of theoretical systems of backward Barbarism and de-Islamization that were established by Hanbal, Ibn Taimiya and Abdel Wahhab. Their system is terrorist, discriminatory and criminally antihuman, even if they try to mollify it. Their attitude is ‘politics in religion’, tactics, diplomatic attitudes and all that the raw and uneducated masses just reject.

- And who can trust them, as long as they do not dare to confront the hysterical masses of the streets who are the basic supporters of the Islamic Terrorism?

- And who can believe they are not terrorists too, as they do nothing to educate their barbaric and cannibalistic followers who would murder any Jew who would happen to cross their way out of their filthy and Satanic mosque?

6. Last but not least, not a single Western imagines the colossal contribution of the West, mainly the Colonial Powers of England and France, to the rise of the Islamic Terrorism through the machinations devised and implemented, the Hellenism, the Orientalism, the Pan-Arabism, and the Modern Islamism, the four systems of erroneously collected, viciously diffused, provocatively manipulated (at the socio-political level), and detrimentally (for all) misused Knowledge.

18 USC 2385, A Legitimate Argument

Moderate islam vs. the more fundamentalist, radical, 'real muslim'.

My question is, is there such a thing? I guess you could argue the subject. However, there are people that call themselves christians, Jews, etc. that put themselves under the prospective labels, but are only such by name and practice their religion with the minimum requirements. Indeed there are those within islam, here in America, that could fit in this very same category.

Under Federal law, a citizen is able to practice their religion of choice, happily and 'peacefully'.
The problem today is, there is an element in our world that wants the rest of us submit, convert or die. That problem is islam. It is the only religion that is murdering in the name of their god, for the sake of their god and 'dawah', world domination.

Take a look at the Federal Crimminal Code 18 USC 2385 and you will find that 'sharia law' falls under this category. Here is a portion of this law:

"Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—"
What we here in America are all about is, stopping the potential overthrow of our government, and our way of life. The bottom line, to enforce sharia upon us in the U.S. is a Federal crime, and we are simply not interested.

David Yerushalmi at SaneWorks, has a compelling argument for ABG Films and why PBS is wrong for banning "Muslims Against Jihad"
the AGB Films entry to PBS's "America At A Crossroads" project shown this past April. His article ties into our original question, 'is there such a thing as a moderate islam vs. the more fundamentalist, radical, 'real muslim'?

Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor...

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breath free..."

These were the words that echoed in the minds of many, who wanted a better life. This is not nessessarily so within islamic jihadists today. There are those that would have you believe that the suicide bombers and other jihadists are just that.

There may be some of the poor involved, but truly, many are well educated and are willing to sacrifice their careers for islam. Jihad has many faces.

Here is an excerpt from Family Security Matters...

"This is why we shouldn’t really be shocked that doctors have become killers, or that al Qaeda would viciously murder fellow Muslim villagers. Those who join in the Islamic Jihad movement have one goal in mind, and that is to (as Spencer states) bring the West “forcibly into the Islamic world.” Committing violence whenever and wherever is part and parcel of the quest. They look for weakness and capitalize on it. If we pull out Iraq now, as “peace” activists and the Democrat Party demand, we’ll hear of many more villages like the one Michael Yon describes. And who will the activists and Democrats blame? Not al Qaeda, but America, the world’s scapegoat, even here at home.

By then, however, placing blame will be irrelevant, as the Jihadists will be emboldened by our leaving. Give an inch and they will take more than just the proverbial mile. And not only will Iraq fall into their clutches, but their operatives around the world will heighten their assault. The worst thing we can do is show weakness. We must dig in our heels and ready ourselves for the long haul.

It’s what our enemies are doing as we speak."

Tongue In Cheek?..

I went into the Gathering Storm this morning and found a very interesting article. Tongue in cheek? Racist you say?

Here's an excerpt: "Those behind terror are reproducing like crazy. They pump out killers like they're Doritos. Meanwhile, Westerners wear condoms. As the enemy grows, we shrink. Numbers dictate success."

I have never considered these two peoples in this light. Interesting nonetheless...

Noble Intents For The People...

Today, is one of the most important days in American history.

We may have forgotten many of the details, and consequently, we are not providing the needed history lessons for our children. We can change this, and many of you are doing so...

Here is a quiz to test your knowledge of this great day in history.

Have fun!

Losing Our National Identity?..

In a few days we will be celebrating one of the most important days in American history.

As with other holidays, the origins of this great day- Independence Day- are being replaced with cook-outs, beer, fireworks and concerts. July the 4th actually represents quite the opposite of our current direction as a nation. We declared ourselves independent from a kingdom that did not represent equality for all men, and so the foundations of our nation had begun.

With the embracing of 'multi-culturalism' and the changing of many of the history books for our children, we are losing our national identity. We, as a people, are hurting ourselves and our nation when we stray from the very founding principles that made the nation great. How can we expect to maintain national pride when generation after generation are being taught a false notion of 'tolerance' and the acceptance of ideas that are founded in immorality and non-absolutes?

Over at the National Review, William J. Bennett has this article, please read it.

Dear reader, on this 4th of July as you enjoy your cook-outs and fireworks, give your children the meaning of this most important day in American history...

We Need To Understand Islam A Little Better...

Another expert on islam says 'the West just needs to understand the culture better, and stop looking at islam through the lens of terror'...

Prof. Akbar Ahmed, mentioned in a previous post, has this to say:

"Europe is going down in population, whereas the Muslim world is rapidly rising. By the middle of this century a quarter of the world's population will be Muslim.

"If that's the case, we can't afford an unending clash between the Muslim world and the west. The world will be consumed by religious turmoil. We are facing a major breakdown in the 21st century. Unless we begin to change now, the chances of us surviving are limited".

"I'm hoping that in time in the west, particularly in the US, where misunderstanding is growing worse, [my work] may help people to understand the culture better, and bring more sanity and good sense all round, so we can face the real issues facing us in the 21st century - like population and climate change rather than ethnic and religious violence".

What we have here is either, blind hope, or, a twisting of the truth to place blame on the West for islamists actions and have us be more accepting and supportive of the so-called 'moderate islam'. What we must understand is islam has a goal of 'dawah' or the spreading of islam. This will result in islamic world rule. We must not allow this to happen in the civilized world. There are, admittedly, changes that need to take place in our world, but islam is NOT the answer...

Islamophobia Panel Discussion In Dallas Texas...

CAIR is at it again and as long as we allow it, they won't stop.

The Crowne Plaza Park Central is hosting a panel discussion on, 'Do U.S. Policies Fuel Islamophobia?' This is another attempt at grooming the American people for accepting islam here on our shores. See more of the story here.

Islam Led The World In Science And Art...

Here is an article by Mohamed Elmasry, hoping to create an 'intellectual recognition', or appreciation of islamists, within the world today. He does bring an argument with the resources listed. There is no doubt, within islam, there are many intelligent individuals. We are all human beings first, created by the same Maker. Perhaps it is islam itself, that stands in the way of these people, to make real humanitarian contributions for the world today.

Read the article on Media Monitors Network.

The Jews are not promoting brain washing the children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims.

The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics.

The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel's part , the following two sentences really say it all:

If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence.
If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel."

Check it out for yourself, do some research. This list could be updated, but you get the point.

Am I biased? Yes, but look at the world today and tell me we would be better off without Jewish/Israeli technology and contribution...

Israel Shows Mercy, Again...

This type of report will not be seen on the mainstream media.
I picked this up at Lekarev.org

Most of the stories of Hamas brutality are not reported by frightened Gaza journalists, but the refugees that have been brought into Israel for medical treatment are now speaking freely. Here are just a few personal reports:

Fatan al-Hinawi, 9, was hospitalized in the children's ward of Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv after being wounded in Gaza. A bullet punctured her side, hit her spine, bowels, a kidney and came out the other side, hitting her arm. Al-Hinawi is one of five Palestinians, three of them children, who were caught in Hamas-Fatah cross fire and taken to Ichilov. Some are in serious condition and the staff at Ichilov Hospital, one of Israel's best hospitals, is giving them the best of care.

Shadi, a 23-year-old policemen, was attacked by Hamas gunmen a week ago. "There were five of them. They stood over me and shot my legs from the knee down. One of them put his Kalashnikov to my head. Instinctively I moved the barrel aside and the bullet hit my hand," Shadi told Haaretz yesterday. He arrived at Ichilov Hospital in critical condition with one leg amputated and the other leg crushed.

Later yesterday, Zecharia Alrai, 39, an officer in Fatah's elite Force 17 commando unit, arrived. He had been abducted by four Hamas gunmen a week ago. They loaded him into a jeep and drove him to an isolated spot, where they shot three bullets into his leg and dumped him. "That's not Islam. That's evil and hypocrisy. How ironic that Israel is rescuing us from our Muslim 'brothers,'" he said.

No mainstream news source has reported the clear truth about the Fatah-Hamas 'war'--there wasn't any. Fatah never fought. Whether the cause was conspiracy or not, two facts are certain: 1) The enormous resources provided to Fatah to fight Hamas in Gaza were essentially unused and are now in the hands of Hamas to attack Israel. 2) Enormous resources are now being provided to Fatah to fight Hamas in the West Bank.

Fatah never fought. Gaza was essentially handed over to Hamas.

Increasingly, stories are circulating from Fatah soldiers who felt abandoned by their leadership, as well as betrayed. From the very beginning of the fighting, the Fatah leadership in Gaza disintegrated and there were no decisive directives issued from Ramallah.

Some Fatah gunmen who have made it into Israel are saying that they suspect a decision was made by Abbas in Ramallah at the beginning of the Hamas agression to surrender Gaza to Hamas without a fight. Why? They were after something more expedient to their political plans.

These Fatah soldiers say, 'Look at the situation that Abbas, Israel and the US were in just before this Hamas takeover. All three were trapped in a seemingly impossible mess as Palestinian infighting increased, living conditions in Gaza went from bad to worse, and the diplomatic "peace process" was as good as dead. With the Palestinian territories now split in two, the US, Israel and Abbas suddenly have an opportunity to move forward, without having to entertain any compromise with Hamas. At least, this is how the betrayed soldiers see it.

Certainly other factors also came into play but the virtual surrender of Fatah to Hamas in Gaza last week is at the very least more than odd, given the vast resources that had been supplied to them by the US.

Round And Round We Go, Where We Stop...

Let's keep shoveling money into the pit my friends!

Dennis Ross has a solution for Fatah... NOT!

Here's an excerpt from SaneWorks.us:

"In this essay he takes the standard line: we should all jump on the secular Fatah bandwagon as a way to crush Hamas. Olmert is already on the wagon.

The problem of course is that Fatah is no less terror-driven than Hamas. And, Ross has a short memory. When he was part of the unrequited love team of Clinton-Barak after Arafat and Fatah rejected their overtures for a love fest at peace now, Ross wrote books, gave speeches and more about the futility of Fatah and its leadership. He repeated the old Israeli line: The Palestinians never lose an opportunity to lose an opportunity. Trite dribble."

Is There A Good Sharia?..

There are those who would purport that 'sharia' law' is not all bad. We should not fool ourselves into this mindset. Like frog in a pot of water before the heat is turned on, we will regret it.

Tony Blankley of Townhall.com, is commenting on the book "Journey into Islam: The Crisis of Globalization", written by his friend Dr. Akbar Ahmed.

Professor Ahmed concludes, "Due to both misjudgments by the United States and regrettable developments in Muslim attitudes, "The poisons are spreading so rapidly that without immediate remedial action, no antidote may ever be found." And Dr. Ahmed has always been an optimist."

Will we really begin to protect ourselves as a sovereign nation, or will our government continue to lead us down a dark path of destruction?..

Digging The Hole, Deeper...

Well, the U.S. will continue to fund and supply weapons to the ill-fated Fatah, and Mahmoud Abbas. Also, Hamas scored big when taking the last Fatah stronghold in the Gaza.
See Aaron Klein's report here.

The question is, why? and will we learn from this debacle?

Go to Lazer Beams and read a very good analysis of the recent Hamas takeover and the U.S. planned re-finance of Abu Mazen, aka Mahmoud Abbas...

Do take the time to read these reports.

Lance Cpl. Hatak Yuka Keyu M. Yearby
Lance Cpl. Hatak Yuka Keyu M. Yearby
21 years old from Overbrook, Oklahoma
3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force
May 14, 2006

Hatak Yuka Keyu Martin Yearby was remembered in funeral services as a small town boy who balanced his Choctaw tribal heritage and his military life.

He did traditional American Indian dances with grace, compassion, discipline and free spirit — "the way he lived his life," the Rev. Timm Emmons said Monday.

"He had a desire to be in the military since he was a young boy. And he believed in what he was doing. He was a warrior, and he was a hero and he finished the course."

Yearby was killed by a roadside bomb, along with fellow Lance Cpl. Jose S. MarinDominguez Jr., in the Al Anbar province of Iraq, two months after he arrived in that country.

Friends and family, fellow American Indians, teachers and classmates filed past his open casket for an hour after the funeral while a U.S. Marine Corps honor guard stood at attention.

About 1,000 people attended a funeral service meant to celebrate the life of the 21-year-old newlywed from Overbrook in southern Oklahoma’s Love County.

Those who spoke in the packed Marietta High School auditorium talked of how he loved to hunt, but never came back with anything. He played tricks, won dancing awards at powwows and appeared on a recruiting magazine for Upward Bound because of a headdress he made from a T-shirt.

Nine of his friends stood on stage to remember Yearby. Jake Barber spoke for them, pausing several times to regain his composure.

"Many great words describe Hatak. The only real word you need to say is 'brother'. He will always be known to us as the ace of spades, the most important card in the deck. He touched us so dearly that words cannot explain,".

Hamas Enforcing Law In Gaza...

Now that Hamas (Iran) has control in the Gaza, they are enforcing islamic law there.

Aaron Klein of the WorldNetDaily.com Jerusalem Bureau, reports, Hamas is cracking down on the christian population, particularly the 'evangelicals' or missionaries.

"Christians can continue living safely in the Gaza Strip only if they accept Islamic law, including a ban on alcohol and on women roaming publicly without proper head coverings, an Islamist militant leader in Gaza told WND in an exclusive interview.

The militant leader said Christians in Gaza who engage in "missionary activity" will be "dealt with harshly."

I would think the christian community, especially the American sponsored groups, will take this edict very seriously.

When the islamic leader indicates, 'will be dealt with harshly', I'm sure they mean it. Many are faced with some difficult decisions at this time.

Bets Wishes For Fathers Day...

Here I am, in my home, with my wife and baby boy.

We are here enjoying what our Father in Heaven has given us, a home, food, and each other. We also have hope in the midst of this world of ours, enjoying what many in the world do not have...

We just finished watching the movie Seabiscuit. What a wonderful representation of what our country has always stood for. We root for the underdog, out of a good heart we want those, against all odds, to become victorious even if for a moment. It is about the giving of second chances, to realize our full potential. It is about love, honor, truth and the coming together for the common good. This is what America has always been about, the common man who can be anything he puts his heart to.

Let us embrace all that is good here in our great country, for our families and friends, for the good of all.

God bless and happy fathers day!

Just A Little Jab...

Yesterday was full of turmoil for Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah party. As of yesterday, Hamas had taken over most of the critical security infrastructure and more, causing Abbas to dissolve the ever-failing unity government. They are in a dire situation and Hamas has declared domination of the Gaza with no intent of going back to a Fatah/Hamas style rule there.

While Hamas is killing many, execution style, bombing and firing upon hospitals creating absolute anarchy, MSNBC in this article, interjects this little snippet:

"Israel was also caught up in the Palestinian power struggle, with Palestinian security officials alleging that an Israeli tank shell killed six people — including five children — in Rafah on Thursday. The Israeli military denied there was any army fire in the area.

Hospital workers said the children were all siblings under the age 16 and were riding in a car at the time they were killed. The driver of the car was also killed, the security officials said."

It's good that MSNBC, as well as others, are showing the chaos taking place in Gaza and not necessarily sugar coating the events. The fact still remains, the media HATES Israel. They can't even report the destruction of two rival islamic factions without somehow bringing Israel into the mix.

The above quote was irresponsible and should have been edited out. The 'tank shelling', as indicated, was alleged. You see how they try to make Israel look bad by saying 'five children' were killed, and they were siblings under the age of sixteen. This quote was not based on FACT and never should have been printed, but hey, Arabs killing Arabs is understood, right? The Israelis kill children...

Hell In Gaza...

As most of you now know, there is civil war in the Gaza.

When Israel was in the Gaza none of this took place. Yes, the 'palestinians' were living in an impoverished condition. It was not the fault of Israel, but of the 'palestinian' authority. Where do you think the millions upon millions of international aide money is going? It's not going to the people that need it, just look at them...

There have been many there that want to immigrate to other parts of the world, and what do you think the response of their leadership was, it was this:

The rising number of Palestinians seeking to emigrate has prompted Jerusalem's Mufti, Mohammad Ahmed Hussein, to issue a fatwa prohibiting Palestinians from leaving Palestinian territories.

"Immigration from this blessed land is not permissible according to Islamic law," said the religious edict. "People who live in this land should not leave it for the invaders and occupiers."

That's right, this is for the good of their people, why else would they not be allowed to leave?
Ed Morrissey at FRONTPAGEMAG believes it's for this reason:

That's a sure sign of desperation. Imams now forbid movement of Palestinians even to other "blessed" lands, such as Muslim Egypt. Why? They know that if the Palestinians leave Gaza in droves, it will leave terrorist groups like Hamas, Fatah, and Islamic Jihad much more exposed to Israeli strikes.

The imams want their congregations to continue their roles as human shields so that terrorists can conduct holy wars. Isn't that special? No wonder they call Islam the Religion of Peace.

Now that the Gaza has exploded into a religious hell, no one wants to stay.

Hamas and Fatah, are full of devils, and these are the ones that we and the world want to give the opportunity to have their own state? Right next to the beloved Israel? FOOLS! Yes, we are fools if we press for that arrangement.

Israel, to their own detriment, leaves the Gaza, leaves their wonderful agricultural greenhouses etc., intact, for the 'palestinians' and what happens? The arab 'palestinians' destroy what was handed to them and now they are killing each other!

Give them a state? NEVER!

This Weeks Hero Was Suggested By Malinda

69-year-old Bert Brady has never stepped foot in Iraq or Afghanistan, yet many soldiers who have know who he is and appreciate what he's done for them. You see, for the past year Mr. Brady has made a trip to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport nearly every morning to welcome home returning American troops. Bert Brady, along with fellow veterans, is a member of the Welcome Home a Hero program. They make sure that every soldier who steps off a plane in Dallas gets a special homecoming.

Brady shows up each day with the goal of making soldiers feel appreciated and proud of their service. He's often joined by veterans of the Vietnam and Korean wars who did not get a warm reception when they returned from battle.

"We are not going to forget them like a lot of Vietnam soldiers have been forgotten," Brady said. "We are not going to forget the soldiers of today."

United For Peace And Justice?...

It's groups like this, the UFPJ, here in our own country, that are a detriment to us.

Their actions are such that are demoralizing to our troops, encouraging treason. They are also plainly anti-Jewish. They recently held a 'The World Says No to Israeli Occupation' rally in Washington D.C.. They are the type of organization that will unknowingly, or perhaps knowingly, welcome the muslim jihadist into our country because of their blind anti-Jewish, anti-American stance. They serve their own agenda and do not speak for the American people.

I'm sure the presence of Hamas, et al, love and will use these types for their own agenda...

Viva Le France!

It is a welcome site for many in the French world and beyond, that is, the seeming massive political change of hands featuring the newly elected Nicholas Sarkozy. France has been over run by immigrant muslims and the French government is making changes, perhaps we should take note here at home.

Susan MacAllen has a great article on this subject here at Family Security Matters.
Here's an excerpt:

Today, the biggest difference between Americans and Europeans is that the level of Islamist violence, and the openness of confrontation with the host culture by Muslim immigrants, is only now reaching the level in America that Europe has known for years. Although it is unpopular to bring it up, medieval historians know that the Crusades were in fact a response to years of Muslim invasions into European soil, with the explicit goal of conquering Europe for Islam. These early Muslim warriors saw the world in the same way modern Islamists do - as merely a world lying in wait for the day when Islam will rule the land. The French fought Muslim armies in France long before the Crusades, so did Spain, Italy and Greece. Once, what is now Istanbul was a capitol of Christendom. Many Europeans see what is happening today as a repeat of the struggles of past centuries with Islam: today’s Muslim army doesn’t attack en masse by horseback; instead it uses an insidious attack on social structure, hidden terrorist cells planting bombs, imams preaching hate - in Arabic - in mosques in the middle of London, Paris, Amsterdam and other European capitals (as well as in America).
Americans, while not exactly forgetting the horror of 9/11, have too easily gone back to the comfortably self-righteous complacency of the politically correct. The much-criticized policies of Homeland Security have perhaps protected us too well: documented evidence suggests that the foiled attempts at serious disruption of our way of life have numbered in the hundreds since 9-11. Within the warm cocoon of perceived safety, we are lulled into a mind-set of trust, of a rosy picture of the intrinsic goodness of all immigrants, of the pure motives of all who cross our shores only to “build a better life”. Europe has also embraced these ideals, until very recently: now, with rising fear of Islamist anti-Western activity in their streets comes a healthy re-consideration of reality.

Not All 'Palestinians' Hate The Great Satan...

There are some decent people that are trapped in the middle of the jihadist' mentality. Some of these people just want to have 'normal' lives and raise their families in relative peace. It seem that there is not more than an ounce of it in the Gaza strip or so-called Palestinian territories.

Where do these people want to go you ask? Most, it is reported, want to come here to the U.S., Canada or the E.U.. Interesting choices indeed and who could blame them.

Here's an excerpt from the JP:
Alarmed by the growing number of Palestinians who are emigrating from the Palestinian territories, the Palestinian Authority's mufti has issued a fatwa [religious decree] forbidding Muslims to leave.

Sources in the PA Foreign Ministry told The Jerusalem Post that some 10,000 Palestinians have filed requests to emigrate from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the year.

Progress Against CAIR? uhhh...

Well, some progress reported by FrontPageMag.com concerning the pending trial here in Texas.

CAIR, as well as, ISNA (islamic society of North America) and the NAIT (North American islamic Trust) have been labeled as 'unindicted co-conspirators' of financing the Holy Land Foundation.

I don't know about you, but 'unindicted co-conspirator' sounds a little like 'undocumented worker'... I hope I'm wrong.

The Devil Wears Prada...

An interesting contrast can be found in Iran today.

While many in America may think Iran to be 'tenth century' country of 'uncivilized' lifestyles, they must think again.

Yes, Iran is making a push towards dawah, or the spread of islam, with sharia at it's core, but many in Iran have taken a more 'western' style of living and they enjoy it.

Debbie, at The Right Truth has this on the subject...

The 'Silent' Jihad In America...

There are certain activities, going somewhat unnoticed, here in our country, by those with devotion to destroy us. When a ring or small group of 'rogue thugs', who just happen to be muslim, are arrested for conspiracy, the media will report on it. Then it goes away and seemingly nothing else is done. We go about our normal day to day activities, waiting for the next baseball or football game...

Nothing wrong with enjoying sports, this is one of the freedoms our fathers fought and died for. That said, we must realize that this is not our father's world. We are reaching a point of complete world change if we do not awaken.

As citizens, we must be ready to 'see and tell' as needed. Don't be afraid of reporting 'suspicious' activities. Don't wait until the bomb has exploded then 'tell', it's too late at that point. I had a small case of ID theft just a few months ago. I made a purchase at a local business and someone used my card info to purchase one-way airline tickets on Al Jazeera Airways! They have no offices here on this continent. I called the FBI and reported it.

In light of the Ft. Dix incident, M Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy had these comments:

"News of the FBI’s arrests of six militant Islamists in New Jersey who plotted to kill our soldiers at Fort Dix was met yet again with the same tired responses of shock and dismissal from the mainstream media (MSM) and from major American Islamist organizations. An FBI agent poignantly noted that we “
dodged another bullet.” The enemy is certainly rearming and germinating another cell somewhere."

And this:

"Will the FBI’s success here answer the question as to why we need to protect each and every citizen in America who practices the principle of “see something, say something” as the heroic video-store clerk (“John Doe”) did here? What if this “John Doe” had contrarily chosen to be silent due to a fear of litigation?

Will we continue to deny the fact that America is not exactly that far behind Europe in our susceptibility to homegrown terror cells?"

We must keep our eyes open and not be afraid to report, even if it ends up being nothing. Better it be nothing than someone being hurt, or worse, when we could have opened our mouths...

al-Taqiyya...

The concept of 'al-Taqiyya' is to be considered. I do not know as absolute fact, but it is my suspicion that this concept is invoked with regularity among the muslim ranks.

You do hear this from muslim leaders. When they speak to Western audiences they say things that we may want to hear, and then when speaking to their muslim brothers, the truth comes out and it is quite different than what was spoken to the Western audience. I believe this same technique is used by the various Islamic organizations here in America...

Here are a couple of excerpts from the above link...

The word "al-Taqiyya" literally means: "Concealing or disguising one's beliefs, convictions, ideas, feelings, opinions, and/or strategies at a time of eminent danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from physical and/or mental injury." A one-word translation would be"Dissimulation."

Ibn Abbas also commented on the above verse, as narrated in Sunan al-Bayhaqi and Mustadrak al-Hakim, by saying: "al-Taqiyya is the uttering of the tongue, while the heart is comfortable with faith." NOTE: The meaning is that the tongue is permitted to utter anything in a time of need, as long as the heart is not affected; and one is still comfortable with faith.

Unless proven absolutely wrong, I would again say, this a normal practice among many muslims when addressing the 'infidels' ...

This Weeks Soldiers Were Suggested By Mary Ann

Col. David Sutherland
Col. David Sutherland(Left)
45 Years Old From Toledo, Ohio
Commander, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division

Since being deployed to the Diyala province of Iraq in November 2006, Col. David Sutherland, along with brigade Chaplain Maj. Charlie Fenton, pictured on the right, has made it a point to visit every wounded soldier and say goodbye to each and everyone of his men who've lost their life. Four of his soldiers died on one day in April 2007 and the bad news arrived at his office in waves -- a knock on the door, a note handed in by an aide, heads bowed, knowing glances exchanged. Aides say Sutherland walks to the mortuary affairs tent at his base and embraces the dead bodies of his men. "I hug all my fallen soldiers", said Sutherland. "They are my own".

Diyala province is one of the worst places in Iraq. Public beheadings of Iraqi police, tribal wars, sectarian wars and al-Qaida. "I didn't come here thinking it'd be easy. No one told me, 'You're gonna get 9 hours of sleep a night and you're not gonna lose soldiers'. But I believe this is the place for me."

"As a soldier, I want to be here on the ground," he said. "As an American, I want it to end."

Will The Internet Slay Islam?..

This is an interesting question and one that points to what of Bullets and Bibles, and others, are trying to accomplish. At the very least, we want to create an awareness.

Go to the Global Politician, and read an article of the same title (as this post), this is an interesting take...
Here's an excerpt from David Wood:
The truth about Muhammad has been one of the world's best-kept secrets. For centuries, it has been virtually impossible to raise objections about the character of Muhammad in Muslim countries, for anyone who raised such objections would (following the example set by Muhammad himself) immediately be killed. Outside the Muslim world, there has been little interest in Islam. But things have changed. Now many people are interested in Islam, and Muslims aren't able to silence everyone. Moreover, with the advent of the Internet, it is now impossible to keep Muhammad's life a secret.

Atempts To Equate Islam With Terrorism Must Be Rejected...

Why is it, that very few within Islam will speak out against jihad?
Generally, when a 'moderate' muslim does speak, it is to say "this is a religion of peace, it has been hijacked by extremists outside of true islam." Mixed messages, always the mixed message...

Actions will speak much louder than words, my friends.

Go to Jihad Watch and you'll see the latest from Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz.

Please take a moment to read the article...
